Menu Fruit

A few year ago, designer and illustrator Alan Rodriquez came up with the idea for a freeze dried fruit cubes brand called MENU2012. Working with designer Eric Morales, they created this new-age cooking ingredient brand that was deigned with gourmet chefs in mind who want the flavor of fresh fruit but also want to be able to store it for months at a time. Using traditional Mexican fruit markets as inspiration with their bright colors, sign paintings, an typography, and stooge tins and the medium, Rodrigues designed Menu Fruit.

Though Menu Fruit was just a concept, and is not an actual brand, the design and concept turned out pretty fun. You can really feel the energy and see the inspiration of Mexican fruit markets when you look at the typography and illustration on the tins. I love all of the different hand done type combined with the bright color and illustration. I've personally never been a huge fan of freeze dried fruit, but the design of Menu Fruit makes it almost look like a special treat or candy that I would be willing to try. Check the project out on Behance for more details and images.
