We are a creative studio full of friendly folks, delivering quality work that’s sure to make you happy.

The “Tayo” Way

Brave the Woods is not simply a name, it is a call to action to be adventurous and curious. We believe in exploration and collaboration and allow that to permeate all aspects of our studio. These core values of adventure, exploration, and collaboration have led us to be a studio that does more than just create pretty pictures (even though we are excellent at it). We are dreamers who don’t just dream; we act. This ability to act and take a leap out of our comfort zone, as scary as it may be at times, is what sets us apart as creative problem solvers.

We believe in a full collaborative process, allowing our clients to feel like they are truly listened to and their creative needs are met by us. While we are confident that we know what we are doing, we also recognize that no one can know everything.

Therein lies the power of collaboration: everyone brings something to the table, and together we can create amazing things.

There is a Tagalog designation for the word “we” that our cofounder Brad picked up while living in the Philippines. In Tagalog “we” can either be said as kami or tayo.

Kami is inclusive of those speaking, but excludes a third party, where as tayo is inclusive to everyone in the conversation. We believe in a tayo way of operating, which to us is a truly collaborative creative process with our clients, friends, and community.

We see power in community and spend a great deal of time and effort building and bolstering the communities we are a part of. This is why we teach, create free educational content, are involved in charity work, and generally love to help other people.

What We Do

Illustration

Illustration is at the heart of what we do. We love to play and experiment with different styles to create the best solution for the creative problem we are given.

Branding

We know that a brand is one of the most important aspects of a business. We work collaboratively with our clients to give their brands a unique personality and voice through our illustrative design philosophy.

Education

From workshops to lectures, we love to educate and connect with creatives of all ages! We believe that eduction is the key to building up our creative community and individual artists.
