Butter Fingers by Jordan Scott

Butter Fingers from J-Scott on Vimeo.

For the last two years, Jordan Scott has been spending his nights, weekends, holidays, and any other down time creating this motion piece, "Butter Fingers". The result is an incredibly well thought-out, beautifully illustrated, and overall really cool piece. "Butter Fingers" is about all of those things that unfortunately have a habit of slipping through your hands. We've all been there. The details are everything in this piece, like the shadows, and the donut frosting sticking to the floor, ruining all chances of the 5-second-rule.We love that this was a self-initiated project, and a labor of love. J-Scott designed, directed, and animated "Butter Fingers himself". He did work with a composer and sound editor as well, and says this about working with them:

"Although I was a team of one to formulate the ideas, illustrate, design and animate the visuals, that is only half of the pie. I worked with a pair of extremely talented people, each in their own right. Cyrille Marchesseau composed a stunning score based off of a single "Home Alone" reference I provided and created a soundtrack that opens up a colorful world I wouldn't have been able to arrive at on my own. Wesley Slover brought the items to life with marble hits and soda sprays galore, working from my ambiguous descriptions and requests until they were just the right amount of fun. Once everything was complete, he was also responsible for the crisp final mix that you hear now."

J-Scott did a great job, and we can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
