50 Things They Never Taught You in Design School

At first glance, you may think that this piece of typography is a mixed media installment. I did. I was even looking where I could purchase it for my wall. It's not real. (Don't worry, my mind was blown too.) This piece of art is the collaboration work of Welsh digital artist Craig Minchington of Adora Design, and London designer and illustrator Tim Miness. The project was a commissioned piece for Digital Arts magazine based on the quote "50 things they never taught you in design school." Using a sketching process, and the Photoshop CS6's 3D tools and Cinema 4D, they created this super realistic piece. It is amazing how much depth was created and even the shine and subtle, and I'm sure highly intentional, imperfection of the "materials" is incredible. The typography alone is pretty beautiful, so the digital work takes it to a whole new level. You can get the tutorial from Craig Minchington on how he created the 3D type at Digital Arts.Source: Behance
