Ladybird Books
Our favorite kinds of projects are the ones that combine art with education. This collaboration with Ladybird Books (an imprint of Penguin Random House) was an absolute dream project for us. We contributed all of the illustrations in these two little science books for kids, The Solar System and Electricity. These books are a fun, easy way for kids to learn about the amazing universe we live in.

OUR ROLE:
Two Distinct Illustration Styles
One of biggest hurdles we faced during this project was that the publisher asked that each book be in a unique illustration style. These two books are part of a larger series of little science books, and we were given the opportunity to work on both as long as we made sure the illustrations didn’t look the same in each book.
Luckily, we work in a myriad of different styles and were more than capable of delivering for them. The Solar System book was illustrated completely on the iPad using Procreate, while the Electricity book was made entirely in Adobe Illustrator. But even though they are very different styles, we made sure to give it our trademark retro nod with a modern twist.
