Austin Food Installations
Oracle
Nothing made us hungrier than illustrating 100+ food illustrations for Oracle’s global headquarters in Austin, TX. We were brought on by Asterisk Design to provide a buffet worth of Austin-themed food illustrations for two, incredibly fun installations. Each was done in a unique illustration style, but both clearly celebrated the Mexican influence in Austin’s food culture.

Lotería Food Mural
Oracle wanted to celebrate Texas all throughout their headquarters in the form of 250+ experiential graphics and art installations. With that in mind, they tasked us with illustrating a host of tasty Texas staples in the form of vintage lotería cards.
Lotería is a chance-based game played in Mexico since the 1700s, similar to bingo. The cards were printed cheaply, leaving the artwork often oversaturated and dark in areas. We tried replicating that printed feel, as well as keying in on certain characteristics of the illustrations like the black outline and shading.
Wheel of Tacos
Choosing what kind of taco you want to eat is a real problem in Austin. There love of tacos has brought about so many different types to choose from. So the talented folks at Asterisk Design came up with the neat installation that you can spin to help make that decision for you!
