Our Friend the Atom

If I were to have a choice of any illustration job (paid) in the world, I think I would choose to illustrate a children's science book. Not sure how I would ever finish it alone. Well for Our Friend the Atom, it was a team effort, orchestrated by Walt Disney.Back when the research of nuclear energy had an understandably bad wrap for being a negative thing, Walt decided to come out with a book as propaganda in its favor in 1956. He recruited the help of German physicist, Heinz Haber, and 22 Disney artists to complete the 165 page book. The result is a wonderful curation of mid-century illustration styles.
