IKEA RELAUNCHES 1956 Lövet table

If you are anything like us, getting rid of the last few pieces of Ikea furniture in your home is like a right of passage to becoming an adult. You realize you want your furniture to last more than a few months before the veneer peels off, or the particle board warps. But their products can look so good! And for that reason we tend to find ourselves back at Ikea. We still shop there, but we now come in with a critical eye, gleaning through the faux finishes and woods to find real gems. The Lövet table seems to be just that. This gorgeous, leaf-shaped table is being resurrected after being the Ikea's first flat pack product (came disassembled) back in 1956. The legs are made of beech, with golden foil tips on the feet. And the top is made from poplar veneer, indicative to the era it was designed. I hope this becomes a trend with Ikea, and we start to see more mid-century pieces rolling back from the dead. You can purchase this one in the meantime for $70, come August 2013.What are your thoughts on the design of the table? Would you buy it? Do think Ikea should continue resurrecting best sellers from the past? I would love to hear your thoughts below.Image Sources: Deezen.com
