Barnegat Lighthouse Print

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend my Barnegat Lighthouse prints went up for sale. The historic lighthouse on Long Beach Island, New Jersey is just the first of the Landmarks of the Shore series, commissioned by The Municipal Prints Company. And 5% of all net sales go to the constant relief efforts of Superstorm Sandy. Having the chance to create this piece was a complete joy. Though my roots are not found in NJ, I understand the historic worth of such a structure. Capturing it in such a fresh, modern graphic way was a challenge I enjoyed. There are plenty of expected renderings of "Old Barney", in forms lifelike paintings and sketches, but this was to stand out. Everything from the color palette to the emphasis on a bold, simple, composition reinforce that goal. Each of these 12 in x 18 in, hand-pulled silkscreens were printed by Seizure Palace Screen Printing. Stay tuned for the rest of the series! Purchase your own Barnegat Lighthouse Print here.
